H.I.E.C welcomes four new Partners across APAC and Europe as it looks to further growth
H.I.E.C (H.I. Executive Consulting), the leading global executive search firm, welcomes two new Managing Partners, Bill Katsaros based in Sydney and Stephan Tils based in Munich, and two new Partners, Angel Wong in Hong Kong and Laurence Maheo in Paris.
Angel joins our APAC office to focus on Financial Services and in particular asset management, private banking, private equity and quasi-government related businesses. Angel has extensive experience in asset and wealth management, alternative investments including real estate private equity and hedge funds across Asia Pacific. Prior to H.I.E.C, Angel co-headed the asset and wealth management practice at another global executive search firm in Hong Kong. Angel has previously worked at Whitehead Mann and Heidrick & Struggles where she successfully completed searches for business leadership, high impact investment professionals across all major discretionary and quantitative strategies, as well as a wide range of general management and functional leadership roles. Before joining the search industry, Angel worked in Goldman Sachs’ private banking division in Asia. Angel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University in San Francisco. She speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
Bill joins H.I.E.C after a career spanning 25 years in Tier 1 management consulting across Australia, UK and the Middle East. Bill will lead our growth markets for Professional Services, working on our clients’ most important talent initiatives. With a track record of leading accelerated market growth, he has led management consulting practices for EY in Australia and the Middle East, for KPMG and BearingPoint in Australia and the UK. Coupled with his Professional Services background, he brings extensive private sector experience having held senior roles with leading Australian corporates including Boral and Metcash. He is a recognised leader in driving digital, technology and business transformation, Innovation and organisational change across multiple industries, including Financial Services, Government, Hi Tech and Consumer Packaged goods. After a career focused on delivering Tier 1 management and IT consulting services to the market, Bill now works with leading Professional Service providers and corporate leaders across the globe to help build out their executive leadership capabilities.
Laurence joins H.I.E.C from a global executive search firm focused on Emerging Markets where she held the roles of Country Manager and President, France. She assembled and led a high performing team. During her time in this role, the French office earned client recognition from the market as a leading search firm for international mandates and a strong reputation in Technology, Industry, FMCG and Private Equity.
Laurence advises high growth companies as well as those in need of transformation and transformational leaders, from early stage start-up to mid-size and global corporations.
Laurence has significant experience in executive search and leadership services, advising, hiring, and restructuring boards; placing chairs, board members, NEDs and C-suite executives in Listed or PE backed businesses. Laurence has lived and worked in France and the USA (Silicon Valley), from where she has led and concluded successful searches in APAC, South East Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the US, bringing her global experience to H.I.E.C.
Stephan‘s 23 years career in executive search, has focused on advisory services, software and digital. Stephan studied in Germany and France and holds a German MBA and a French DSG. He started his career with Heidrick & Struggles in 1998 in its software and advisory services practice, helping clients to build best in class leadership teams. After 7 years, Stephan joined a boutique search firm called Gemini Executive Search / NGS Global, as co-Owner & Managing Partner to build up their global advisory services & digital practice. Before starting with H.I.E.C, Stephan re-joined Heidrick & Struggles where he stayed for 7 years as the Head of the Advisory Services Practice in Germany, within the Global Advisory Services Team. Stephan has partnered with clients in strategy advisory, transaction services (including deal strategy, restructuring, M&A, private equity, real asset), IT services, digital transformation, and software. Stephan is a trusted advisor, mentor, and valued part of the advisory services ecosystem, he has long-lasting experience advising executives and boards to build and develop market leading leadership teams. In addition, he has an exclusive network with small and midcap private equity firms in Germany. Stephan is married with four kids and speaks German, English and French.
